New Ikea Desk
The new Ikea catalogue 2011 is just out in the USA. This innovative design has been used on other desks, but Ikea have worked their magic and got the price down to an amazing $99. The legs you have to buy separately of course.
Cable outlets and compartment in the back keeps cords and cables out of sight but close at hand.
Spring hinges let the lid close gently and silently.
Inside lined in felt; absorbs sound and can also be used as a notice board.
Pockets and paper holders on the inside of the lid. Easy to keep your workspace well organized.
No idea yet whether the desk with lid concept will be coming to the UK, but it’s a great idea if you want to shut away your office at the end of the day. If you don’t have a spare room to keep your work and home separate, perhaps this desk is the next best thing.
